A Day Out 20/07/13

Hello, on Saturday 20th July, Tom, Josh, Kasey and I had a day out together. On route 76 there were special heritage vehicles out because of the 100th anniversary of the route.

A curtailed number 59 bus.

We met in Ian Allan transport shop, and then walked down to Waterloo station.

A curtailed number 172.

A common unallocated working on route 171.

Waiting for the Waterloo and City Line.

We then boarded a Central Line train to Stratford and ate at KFC. We then walked to Stratford City Bus Station to cover the 588.

28 minutes later: no 588! We then gave up and searched for Stratford Station.

Then we boarded a nice air-conditioned national express east anglia train.

We rode the train to Liverpool Street Station.  Stagecoach 17001 was on the 55 that day and we were hoping to catch it. So we walked to the bus stop and waited for the number 8.

Typically, the number 8 we were on was curtailed to Holborn.

Then:

A very rare curtailment on route 388.

Below is another 388 curtailment!

iBus from outside!!

Route 341 has now been re-routed via Holborn Station.

Route 21 to Waterloo? It's actually 521 but I deliberately cut out the 5!
We then caught the number 25 to Oxford Circus.

We waited at Holles Street and then we found out that 17001 had been curtailed to Holborn. Rats!

We then rode the Bakerloo Line to Waterloo.
I then left Josh and Kasey to get home so I rode the South West Train to Wimbledon. I was accompanied by Tom so I wasn't alone yet.
We then went separate ways to get home. Whilst waiting for the 93 to Putney, I took some more pictures of buses.

A PVL turned up but I waited for the next one because I knew it would be a DOE.

I then rode the South West Train from Putney to Chiswick and I rode the E3 home. It just happened to be an odd working so that worked out brilliantly!

Empty Buses number 6!

  1. Nice post, except that train isn't National express east anglia, its C2C
