Hello, and welcome to a post about Uxbridge Running Day 2013. I planned to take route 607 there but when I looked on London Vehicle Finder there were only two out. I thought I would have to take the 427 but when I got to West Ealing Broadway the 607 was only two minutes away!
My 607! |
Three ex-first bus routes all now with Metroline logos. |
I got to Belmont Road in 34 minutes. Without traffic route 607 is a very quick link between Ealing and Uxbridge.
Then I missed MMX 313 going to Rickmansworth. But in the end I got on something even better...
Yes, I rode RM1!
I rode the vehicle to Hillingdon Station and walked onto a Metropolitan Line train. Two minutes later, the driver said that there was a points failure near Uxbridge and all trains couldn't get further than Hillingdon. So I waited at the bus stop for the U2. The driver told all his passengers to do this, but I already knew I needed to do that. So I boarded the U2 and it was extremely full. I eventually got back to Belmont Road and I went through the Chimes Shopping Centre to HMV to buy the new Disclosure album. I then took a few more pictures.
This bus was probably going to make a few journey's on route 222. |
Fiddling with blinds... |
I then had to go home. So I decided not to just go straight down Uxbridge Road and take a more interesting route. So I boarded a U4 to Hayes.
I then got on a DP E6 to Greenford High School and waited for the E9. This left only two bus routes beginning with the letter E I haven't been on (EL1, EL2). The E9 came and I rode it to Ealing Broadway Station. I then ran to the E2 bus stop and caught one with seconds to spare!
And finally:
